Muhammad Awad signed a new contract with Maccabi Haifa last Thursday, for the next three years, Walla learned! sport. After a long period of ups and downs in the relationship between the parties and Awad's refusal to sign, the parties reached an agreement and the striker signed through his agent Gilad Katsav, but he will not play for the team this season. Awad will be loaned abroad for free, with an option to purchase after one season for 1.5 million euros.

23-year-old Awad made his senior team debut in September 2014. After scoring 30 goals in the youth team and leading it to the championship, he officially made it to the senior squad at the beginning of the 2016/17 season, and scored his debut goal against Betar Jerusalem in 1 In April 2017. Since then he has added 13 more league goals in the Maccabi Haifa uniform and found the net in the State Cup, Toto Cup and European League qualifiers against Mora last summer. He was called up to the Israeli national team in October 2018, but has yet to make his national appearance.
