Chelsea sign the next star

Thiago Silva joins Chelsea FC. The 35-year-old is coming free of charge from Paris-Saint Germain, where Silva, as a regular player and captain, most recently played his part in the national double and in the Champions League final. The Brazilian center-back signed a one-year deal with an option for another season.

Silva is the next in a series of prominent additions to Stamford Bridge: With striker Timo Werner, creative player Hakim Ziyech and left-back Ben Chilwell, the Londoners have already signed three more players with starting eleven prospects for Frank Lampard's team. In addition, there was the free transfer of the French central defender Malang Sarr: The 21-year-old came from OGC Nice, but will initially be loaned out for the coming season.

Veerman leaves St. Pauli

FC St. Pauli loses its regular striker: One year before the end of his contract, Henk Veerman returns to his home club, the Dutch first division club SC Heerenveen. Veerman scored 17 goals for Hamburg in 39 appearances.

Ronaldo guarantees Juventus' whereabouts

Cristiano Ronaldo has countered speculation about an early club change on Instagram. "As I prepare for my third season as a Juventus player, my spirit and my ambition are higher than ever," the Portuguese wrote alongside a video of his goals in the Juventus shirt. Ronaldo's contract in Turin runs until 2022, most recently due to the departure of Juventus in the Champions League round of 16 about an early departure of the 35-year-old.

Ibrahimovic indicates another season at AC Milan

And another old star is likely to stay with Serie A: "As I said, I'll warm up first," wrote Zlatan Ibrahimovic on Instagram. In addition, the Swedish striker posted a photo montage in the AC Milan jersey, on which the first digit of his shirt number 21 was overwritten with a one. Eleven is the number of competitive goals the 38-year-old has scored in 20 games for the Rossoneri since moving from LA Galaxy to Milan in early January. Ibrahimovic had initially received a contract until the end of the season, but Italian media recently reported that an agreement on a one-year contract extension was imminent.
