This year a lot is different due to Corona, but at least: There are German youth championships for riders. Among the Bavarian nominees are several from the local region.

District - The youth championships will be held this year in Riesenbeck on the facility of Olympic champion Ludger Beerbaum ("Riesenbeck International"). The Bavarian regional association recently announced the nominees - among the 33 young women and men there are several female riders from the local region.

Youth DM: Haarmann and Haller nominated for the young riders

In the “jumping” discipline, Verena Haller (Huglfing) and Julia Haarmann (Magnetsried) are part of the young riders age group (19 to 21 years old). Both start for the "RFV Weilheimer Pferdefreunde" and have already competed in the youth championship in recent years. In 2018 and 2019 they each reached the final exam. Two years ago, in Munich-Riem, Haarmann shone ninth overall. The Magnetsriederin can arrive this year with “Casta Diva” or “Cecilia”, Haller is nominated for “Carry Anne”. A few weeks ago they each achieved a place in a three-star class in Munich-Riem. World Champion Simone Blum won the Grand Prix.

In the “Children” age group, another rider from the “RFV Weilheimer Pferdefreunde” qualified for the title fights: Ava Ferch (with “First Lady” or “Last Minute”). The daughter of actor Heino Ferch and the former eventing rider Marie-Jeanette Ferch has recently achieved several placements in Ranshofen, Austria, including two second places.

Youth DM: nominated once again by Fircks

In dressage, Cosima von Fircks (RC Gut Adelsried) again qualified for the youth championship. The 21-year-old is nominated for “Nymphenburg's Easy Fellow”, with whom she won an international competition in Hagen this year. The competition among the young riders is very high. Moving into the third test, the final, would be a great success. In the past two years, von Fircks had only just missed the final.

Youth DM: competitions on two weekends in Riesenbeck

In order to better adhere to distance rules, the competitions take place on the grounds of "Riesenbeck International" over two weekends. The youth championship in dressage will take place from September 11th to 13th, the jumping championships will take place from September 18th to 20th. The participants are selected according to the quota allocated to the regional associations. In addition, the members of the junior squads 1 and 2 are entitled to start. The German champions are determined in the respective age groups over three special tests.

There have been German title fights for the youngsters since 1959. That was when jumping started. Dressage was added in 1962, eventing in 1964. The eventing youth championship is held this year in Luhmühlen and has been postponed to October.
