Covid-19: PSG with an improbable starting 11 against Lens?

2020-09-04T09:45:17.402Z

Between the six players who tested positive for Covid-19 and the French team's match against Croatia on September 8, Thomas Tuchel could have a lot of concern in Félix-Bollaert.

By requesting the postponement of its match in Lens, initially scheduled for August 29, Paris SG had triggered the ire of northern supporters.

It may well be that the champion club of France ends up regretting this postponement.

On the one hand because it allowed Parisian players to take vacations, and for some of them to spend them in Ibiza, where they caught sunburn and Covid-19 for the same price.

And on the other hand because this trip to the Félix-Bollaert stadium, now scheduled for September 10, is not under the best auspices.

Indeed, Thomas Tuchel could have a funny puzzle to solve to compose his starting 11.

Or rather, it will be very simple because it will hardly be spoiled for choice….

Thus, Neymar, Keylor Navas, Mauro Icardi, Angel Di Maria, Marquinhos and Leandro Paredes, all positive for Covid-19, should miss this first championship meeting for PSG.

As for Kylian Mbappé and Presnel Kimpembe, they could both be affected by the League of Nations match of the Blues against Croatia on September 8.

Or 48 hours just before this trip to Lens.

Will Didier Deschamps give Tuchel a gift by not making them play, or at least?

Possible, but this decision would risk causing some stir in the North, where some were already rising up in a League in the pay of PSG.

But admitting that the two French internationals are starting, the starting 11 in Paris would still look great (see the visual), with in particular a Julian Draxler who started Thursday night with Germany against Spain.

A sign that, even in the closet at Camp des Loges, the German is not completely finished.

But if Kimpembe and Mbappé were not able to play, it would force Tuchel to relaunch Abdou Diallo in central defense alongside Thilo Kehrer, who had become accustomed to playing as a right-back.

And in attack, the absence of Mbappé would force the German technician either to give a chance to young Arnaud Kalimuendo (18), or to revive a certain Jesé, whom even some club fans have forgotten.

On the sidelines, it would then be the bottle-feeding class, with only Youth League players around Alphonse Areola, if he sees Marcin Bulka prefer the goalkeeper position.

What make Tuchel want to postpone the match again?

This time, PSG should not have a say and the relief of the health protocol - if 20 players from a list of 30 names provided by the club are available, the match is maintained - should not play in its favor .

And we were going to forget: Ander Herrera was also in Ibiza with the six other positives.

After, Tuchel is probably no longer close to one player ...
