Not only the footballers, but also the officials hope for clarity as soon as possible when competitive games can take place again.
Heinz Eckl finds clear words.
Heinz Eckl is angry.
The district leader of the men in the Zugspitze district “it doesn't fit in front and behind” that the Bavarian state government
did not say a word about competitions
in amateur sports
at its press conference last Tuesday
.
“We plan and plan and then we can throw it in the trash,” he says.
That is just annoying.
Until Tuesday, Eckl was "totally optimistic" that the restart date of September 19th could be kept.
But his emotional state has changed.
He is currently unable to make a reliable statement as to whether it will be possible to play for points again this year.
There are signs that the
league cup
, which Eckl sees as a great competition with sporting value, is
about to be canceled
.
"The weekends on which we can play are becoming fewer and fewer," says the district game director.
"We mustn't forget the upcoming catch-up games either."
Eckl: "You can't please everyone"
Eckl is primarily concerned that the clubs, coaches and players have a clear goal or at least
a perspective on
what they can work towards.
"The politicians should say whether they can still play this year or not." It is then the job of the BFV officials to implement this accordingly.
As of now, games are planned until mid-November.
“As a stranger, you always have the weather,” Eckl knows from experience.
Other regions are doing better.
One possibility would be to play two weeks longer into June next year.
“But then the Whitsun holidays come and many want to leave,” says Eckl.
It is clear to him: "You can't please everyone, and what the BFV decides is categorically wrong for many anyway."
Eckl does not know whether games without spectators would help.
"The basic statement of the association, not to start without spectators, is ready," he says.
Some clubs are now ready to play without spectators rather than not at all.
"But others need the income," says the Altenstadter.
The
Toto Cup final
between SC Weßling and FC Penzberg "is subject to the whole procedure" and has not yet been scheduled.
