Havertz change is imminent
Kai Havertz's record transfer to Chelsea is about to close.
The 21-year-old top talent has left the national soccer team's quarters in Stuttgart to clarify final details in London.
"We are grateful to the national coach that Kai can now sort things out with our support on site in London," said Bayer Leverkusen's sports director Rudi Völler after the "Bild" newspaper reported on the departure.
"The player was a bit torn. On the one hand he wanted to join the national team. On the other hand, he really wants to take this step. Of course, we also know about the importance and magnitude," said national coach Joachim Löw and gave Havertz the clearance for the trip to England.
"That is of course a huge story," said Loew.
Havertz was not used in the 1-1 draw of the DFB-Elf on Thursday against Spain and is now also missing in the next Nations League game on Sunday in Basel against Switzerland.
Havertz 'previous club is hoping for a transfer of around 100 million euros despite the corona crisis.
English media, on the other hand, reported a transfer fee that was only a little more than 70 million euros, but could be increased by bonus payments.
The "Blues", in which the national players Antonio Rüdiger and Timo Werner are already under contract, and Havertz had been in agreement for some time.
Medical check failed - Cologne does not oblige Mamba
The transfer of Streli Mamba from SC Paderborn to 1. FC Köln was canceled due to a failed medical check.
"We were in agreement with Streli and Paderborn. But at the moment he could neither train nor play," said FC manager Horst Heldt: "We don't want to take the risk of a longer downtime, so we decided against a commitment."

Mamba and his advisors were already at the Geißbockheim to sign the contract, but according to information from several media outlets, more serious muscular problems had been diagnosed during the medical examination.
In the event of a commitment, around 1.5 million euros would have been due.
Mamba was considered the dream player of the Cologne trainer Markus Gisdol, who wants reinforcements for his offensive.
Now Robin Hack from the second division club 1. FC Nürnberg is moving into focus.
According to "Express", talks with him are "well advanced" and the transfer should be perfect "as early as the next week".
