PSG has lost its godmother.
Died this Friday at the age of 92 in Vallauris (Alpes-Maritimes), near Cannes, Annie Cordy had several strings to her bow.
In addition to the hat of Tata Yoyo, her cult title, the Belgian singer-actress had notably agreed to support PSG, at the very beginning of the adventure.
Long before its official creation on August 12, 1970, the Parisian club could count on the interpreter of the "Bonne du Curé".
Present alongside the stars Jean-Paul Belmondo or Enrico Macias, she took part in the membership campaign in 1969, which was made public by Pierre Bellemare, on the air in Europe 1. It is in this spirit that 'Annie Cordy logically became the first godmother of PSG.
In 1971, she even sings the official anthem on a 45 rpm "Go Paris".
A title where the singer launches in her refrain: "Come on, go Paris / Your team is the strongest / Forward, the guys carry you / All in one cry / Go FC.
Paris / Straight to the point is our hope / We want to tonight / Celebrate Paris for you!
