Amateur sport will return a little more to normal from September 19th.

The reactions are positive - but that doesn't mean all the problems are over.

district

 - Amateur sports will return a little more to normal as of September 19: Competitions are again permitted for contact sports, and a limited number of spectators will be permitted - 400 outside and 200 in the hall.

The relief of this decision was noticeable on Tuesday by everyone involved.

Because the situation had worsened considerably: Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann had received a petition from an alliance of 31 sports associations on Monday, which had expressly called for these easing, and the Bavarian Football Association had the go for a possible one in a survey of the clubs Lawsuit against the Free State received.

Now politicians have given the green light ahead of time.

The reactions from the clubs are positive - but that doesn't mean all the problems are over.

basketball

The Bayernliga basketball team at TSV Jahn Freising was of course pleased to hear the news from politicians, emphasizes head coach and 3rd department head Michael Buhl.

“That doesn't change that much about the situation, however, as we haven't yet confirmed that we can go into the hall.” Normally, two out of three training sessions per week would be scheduled in the Realschulhalle on Düwellstraße - but the Jahn-Korbjäger have to be at the moment content with sporadic sessions in the Luitpold sports hall and on the outdoor sports area in the Savoyer Au.

Clear case: the preparation for the season that starts on October 10th has so far been anything but optimal.

"Maybe we will play the first games without a spectator."

When it comes to the topic of “spectators at the home games”, it is advisable not to act excessively, but rather cautiously, explains Buhl.

"We have an average of 110 people, that could be arranged in the Luitpold sports hall." Nevertheless, there is "a certain logistical effort" - keyword: mask requirement and distance.

“We'll see how we manage it in the department,” says Buhl.

"Maybe we will play the first games without a spectator."

ice Hockey

"We are of course happy about it, because a sport lives from the fans and the emotions in the stands", says Andreas Sten, 2nd department head of Black Bears Freising.

“For us and many other ice hockey clubs it is also a financial aspect.

At least a large part of the ancillary costs for referee fees and the like can be covered by entrance fees. ”The decision to allow spectators in September came as a bit of a surprise to him.

In ice hockey, many would have already prepared for a start to the season without an audience.

At the Black Bears, alternative options such as online streaming of the national league games were even discussed.

Now it is important to expand the already practiced and functioning hygiene rules in the training operation to include the part for what happens next to the ice with spectators.

The Bavarian Ice Sports Association already has a framework concept for this, says Sten. But for the local conditions, an individual plan for the Black Bears must now be drawn up based on the hygiene concept of the city administration for the public run.

From the point of view of the 2nd department head, the club will definitely have to deal with more work, for example to ensure the registration of spectators.

EV Moosburg: Loidl is not surprised

For Bernhard Loidl, board member of EV Moosburg, however, the decision of the state government came as no surprise: Due to the unequal treatment of cultural events and sport, as far as the audience is concerned, politics came under great pressure.

The EVM is already in talks with those responsible for the city of Moosburg and, according to Loidl, will probably be able to start with up to 200 spectators.

The volume of the hall is easily enough for this, and the air exchange can be guaranteed without any problems thanks to the modern extraction system in the Clariant Arena.

The further details for the local hygiene concept will be worked out with city officials in the coming days.

The most important thing for the EVM board member is that the league games - especially in the youth sector - can finally start.

Because the complete failure of a season in this area, Loidl emphasizes, “you can never catch up”.

Handball

Ingrid Schuhbauer from HSG Freising-Neufahrn, who is also Vice President of the Bavarian Handball Association, speaks of absolutely good news: “Everyone has already scratched their feet.

I immediately got a flood of emails from the clubs, which of course were impatient. ”But everything is still far from clear:“ It is now up to the municipalities to determine how many spectators are allowed.

To do this, they first need written information from the government. ”You have to keep a cool head now.

The association is currently updating the hygiene concepts, which will be sent to the clubs as soon as possible.

A survey is currently underway to see what the respective locations are like, for example with regard to the changing rooms and showers.

In Freising they are also waiting for a decision by the town hall - in general there are certainly one or two clubs across Bavaria that are only allowed to play later: “These games could be added at the end of the season.

It's not that easy, but we will manage to do it, ”says Schuhbauer optimistically.

Eching coach Monz: "What if a player tests positive?"

Lukas Monz, the trainer of the Echingen handball men, emphasizes: “It is of course nice that we have now got the okay from politics.

Spectators are very important to us, firstly for the mood, of course, but also from an economic point of view. ”The costs would not be lower, the income from home games would be important for one or the other club.

However, Monz sees some uncertain aspects: “What if a player tests positive?

How's it going then?

In my opinion, we will have a torn game plan, we still need a solution. ”It is important to ensure that the game goes as fair as possible.

He has been training with his regional league men for two weeks - and everyone is really hot for the start of the season on October 10th.

Judo

For the judokas, the relief is of course gratifying, says Joe Sanders, trainer at SG Moosburg.

Although the relaxation in competition operations does not play a role for the Bavarian athletes for the time being.

Because as the Bavarian Judo Association confirmed on request, the current fighting season was canceled together with the clubs in the knowledge of a possible opening.

After a six-month break from training, judo competitions were not feasible without a considerable risk of injury.

Sanders shares this opinion.

Many clubs had not been able to train at all because the halls were closed, so starting the season in autumn would have made no sense.

Wrestling

The wrestlers have also received the state government's easing of the Corona issue very positively.

So it actually looks like the points rounds in the Bavarian leagues can definitely start on October 24th.

Club boss Michael Prill from SV Siegfried Hallbergmoos was pleased to note the decision: “It's nice for the club and the fans that the government has now given the green light.

Now we have to wait and see how the implementation looks in detail. ”Information will be received from the Bavarian Wrestling Association soon.

Prill continues: “We are even more concerned with the organizational effort this year than worrying about the season getting off to a good start.

The fact that encounters with spectators can take place in closed rooms makes the season even more interesting.

We will now intensify our planning so that everything works. "

volleyball

Up to 200 spectators are allowed indoors from September 19th?

Dejan Jankovic can only smile tiredly: "We can only dream of such numbers," says the department head of the Freising volleyball team.

“We don't have a grandstand at all in the hall, and usually only 50 to 100 people come anyway.” However - and that is the much bigger problem: The sports club players currently have to stay outside.

Jankovic: "It will be quite a cold start"

During the last two weeks of the summer vacation, the adult teams of the SCF could have trained in the hall on Moosstrasse - "We have not been able to use it since the start of the school year on Tuesday," says Jankovic.

He is now hoping for a solution as soon as possible.

After all, the city of Freising had already signaled that it would make the school sports halls accessible to the clubs again from October 1st.

Just in time for the start of the season in the regional league, the Freising volleyball players have their first away game on October 10 and their first home game a week later.

"It will be quite a cold start," regrets Jankovic.

Nevertheless, he is happy about the decision of the politicians.

"That's great.

But there are still numerous problems. "
