The Presidium of the German Football Association (DFB) has significantly reduced the premiums for the first round in the DFB Cup due to the restrictions caused by the corona pandemic.
Instead of 175,500 euros, there are only 137,000 euros each for the 64 participants this season.
The DFB confirmed a corresponding decision after the "kicker" had previously reported the losses.
The association also pointed out that all clubs in the 3rd league and below receive an additional 30,000 euros to implement the hygiene concept.
It is unclear how the umbrella association will proceed in the further cup rounds.
The money comes from the central marketing of TV revenues and marketing rights.
So far, the income has increased from round to round, most recently the four semi-finalists each received 2.8 million euros.
