At a good and successful time, the 2020/21 season of Maccabi Tel Aviv kicked off tonight (Monday) with the first warm-up game against Hapoel Holon in Hadar Yosef, which they won 65:71.
Against the backdrop of the impending closure and the cloud surrounding the start of the season in the Premier League, the Yellows made their debut appearances for Ante Zizic and Oz Blazer.

Holon started the game better, with good minutes from CJ Harris, and led throughout most of the first quarter to which it went down by 15:19.
Those who brought Maccabi Tel Aviv back to the game in the second quarter were the inside players Othello Hunter and Anta Žižić who with 19 points in the half turned the score around and at the end of the second quarter Maccabi Tel Aviv leads 34:37.
Yannis Sapropoulos' team started the third quarter excellently, escaped to an 8-point lead during it, but Holon did not give up, stopped its opponent for 4 minutes without points, and at the end of the quarter 54:48 to Maccabi Tel Aviv.
Holon's momentum continued in the last quarter as Stefanos Dadas' team bit more and more with Maccabi's advantage, when towards the end it was only 3.
At this point the hosts managed to escape again, went up to 61:69, 2 minutes to go, and seemed to have finished the game.
But Holon did not give up, fought, reduced to just one point, but Tyler Dorsey withstood the pressure at the end on the penalty line and gave his team a 74:77 victory.
