Tour de France: Greifel retired, Roglich does not stop Israel today

Guy Niv survived the last mountain section of the Tour de France tonight (Thursday) as he rode under Mont Blanc in the French Alps.

Niv has two more sections left, one flat and another against the clock, until he reaches the final section on the Champs Elysees with the Israel Startup Nation group and will fulfill the biggest dream for every professional rider - to complete 21 full sections in a column.

The section that opened at the Maribel and ended at La Roche-Son Furon (175 km) included five ascents, two of them in category 1 and one in the highest category in the cycling industry. During the segment and unfortunately at the age of 38 he will not get to finish the column for the last time probably in his career.

Greifel has previously won 11 sections in the column, but in the last week he also suffered from an illness that made him feel bad and as mentioned yesterday he put the bike in the car and finished the race.

By contrast, Primo 'Roglic's Slovenian rider from Yambo Wisma, has maintained his place as the overall leader of the column and holds a gap of 57 seconds.

The 18th section was completed by Michael Kabitkowski from the Inaus Group (4: 47.33 hours).

Tomorrow (13:15, Eurosport) will be the 19th section (166.5 km) from Burg Ann Bears to Champagneol.
