This is called a perfect debut - when you score a hat trick in the first game. Sandhausen's Daniel Keita-Ruel had such a creamy day at the start of the second division.

Darmstadt 98 lost its opening game under the new coach Markus Anfang.

At SV Sandhausen, the lilies, who fought for promotion last season, lost 2: 3 (1: 2).

Match winner on the side of Sandhausen was newcomer Daniel Keita-Ruel, who scored three goals in his first league appearance for SVS.

Keita-Ruel had moved from Fürth to Sandhausen.

Mathias Honsak had put Darmstadt in the lead in front of 754 spectators (19th minute) before Keita-Ruel turned the game (29th / 38th, hand penalty after video evidence / 74th).

Tim Starke (90th + 3) made the final score.

The game began rather slowly at first, but after a short start-up phase, the Darmstadt team gained slight advantages and pushed for the second goal after the lead.

Hannover 96 built on the strong second half of last season and made a tailor-made start into the new season.

A 2-0 (1-0) success was achieved against Karlsruher SC.

Captain Dominik Kaiser (25th) and substitute Linton Maina (85th) scored the goals.

In the 28th minute, a header from Marco Djuricin was rightly denied recognition due to an offensive foul after video evidence.

Djuricin (45 + 2) also failed because of the well-reacting 96-keeper Michael Esser.

Hanover's Marvin Ducksch (53rd) missed the big chance to make it 2-0.

The second hit came shortly before the end after a counterattack.

After three years and four months, the Würzburger Kickers returned to the 2nd Bundesliga with a defeat.

The promoted team lost 3-0 (0-0) against Erzgebirge Aue in their own stadium.

The Saxons dominated after the break and initially cheered a double strike from John-Patrick Strauss (60th minute) and Pascal Testroet (63rd).

In stoppage time, substitute Tom Baumgart increased.

Because of the current Corona development in Würzburg, the Kickers had to start the season without fan support.

As in the 2: 3 in the DFB Cup against Hannover 96, the defense was not ready for the second division.

As an outstanding player on the pitch, Florian Krüger prepared both goals for the guests on the left wing.

Strauss and Testroet were both able to finish unhindered in front of goalkeeper Fabian Giefer.
