The return
: The time of canning jubilation is - for the time being - over.
In the Signal-Iduna-Park, 9,300 spectators ensured an atmosphere that has not been seen in the Bundesliga for six months.
In the case of fouls, people shouted and cheered when duels were won.
It can go on like this if the circumstances permit.
The result:
Borussia Dortmund won their opening game of the 2020/2021 season 3-0 (1-0) against Borussia Mönchengladbach.

The first half:
The top game met expectations from the start.
In a fast-paced and intense game, Dortmund's attacker Erling Haaland had the first chance (22nd minute), Jonas Hofmann on the other side offered the greatest opportunity for the guests (32nd).
The lead came from a collaboration between the two 17-year-olds on the pitch: On his league debut, Jude Bellingham put the ball out to the half-right to Giovanni Reyna, who pulled into the far corner and scored to 1-0 - Gladbach's goalkeeper Yann Sommer had no chance to defend himself (35 .).
Five minutes later, after a cross from Emre Can, a header from Jadon Sanchos hit the crossbar.

Referee Felix Brynch looked at it several times on the screen and decided on a penalty.

Haaland took it less philosophically and turned dust-dry (54th).
In the 78th minute, BVB set an exemplary counterattack, which Haaland completed after a great sprint from Jadon Sancho.
