French champions join forces with WWF to save the planet

2020-09-21T17:08:28.626Z

Gathered for the planetary cause within the #PasleDernier campaign, the French champions want to create a vast movement within the sports world to save the planet.

“Recent events, whether it be the pandemic linked to Covid, mega-fires or even historic droughts, bear witness to the urgency with which we must review our production and consumption models.

"

Straight talk

With her usual outspokenness, Isabelle Autissier once again launches the alert in September 2020. The president of WWF France, an independent organization for the protection of the environment in the world, is launching an awareness campaign based on on several renowned athletes, in order to "mobilize the wider world, beyond the audiences already aware".

Deployed until January 2021 on social networks and around major sporting and cultural events, the #PasLeDernier campaign, co-financed by AFD, also aims to bring the voice of the general public and to challenge decision-makers in the prospect of the next major events for biodiversity such as the IUCN World Congress or the conference of the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP15).

“Major sporting events and their actors are carriers of values.

Now the organizers must carry messages saying: "We are committed".

This requires a lot of concrete actions ... We will have to rethink things.

Sport is not immune to the changes that move the world.

"

Commitment

To serve this cause, several high-level French sportsmen and women have chosen to make their commitment known: Nikola Krabatic, Wendie Renard, Mathieu Bastareaud, Delphine Cascarino, Pascal Martinot-Lagarde, Delphine Cascarino, Kevin Mayer, Vincent Riou… They are many to appear in the video spots which will try to lead in their wake the largest number of practitioners.

Through our #PasLeDernier campaign, concludes Isabelle Autissier, and thanks to the massive mobilization we hope for from sports and culture players and of course from citizens, we want to bring the protection of nature to the highest level of priorities ”, concludes Isabelle Autissier.
