VfL Bochum missed the perfect start to the season in the 2nd Bundesliga.
The long-time superior Bochumers gave a 2-0 lead against FC St. Pauli in the final phase - the two goals from Daniel-Kofi Kyereh saved the Hamburgers another point in return.
Bochum first took the lead in front of 3421 spectators in the Ruhrstadion with a free kick from Robert Zulj (26th minute).
The hosts had already created two or three good chances beforehand.
With the ex-Mainz Gerrit Holtmann, coach Thomas Reis only had one new entry in the starting line-up and trusted in the proven forces.
St. Pauli - newly formed under the new head coach Timo Schultz - had to compete without a central striker and could hardly develop any punch in the attack.
Even after the break, the hosts remained the more active team - Zoller (46th) and Zulj (66th) left the best opportunities behind.
The guests continued to make too many inaccuracies in the attacking game and were too unimaginative against the Bochum pressing.
The greatest chance of equalization for St. Pauli was awarded by Kyereh (70th).
From zero to two in 88 seconds
After further good chances, Zoller managed to make it 2-0 for Bochum in the final quarter of an hour on presentation of Silvere Ganvoula.
But then Daniel-Kofi Kyereh, who had been transferred from SV Wehen Wiesbaden in the summer, turned the game around.
After two careless mistakes in the Bochum defense, Kyereh struck twice and scored the 2: 2 shortly before the end (84th / 86th) and within 88 seconds.
