FC Barcelona and Atlético de Madrid have reached an agreement for the transfer of Luis Suárez.
The rojiblanco team will pay six million euros in variables according to the statement made public by Barça.
The Barça entity publicly expresses its gratitude to the player "for his commitment and dedication and wishes him good luck and success in the future", continues the note in which it is also specified that the Uruguayan striker will offer this Thursday at 12.30 telematics press to say goodbye to the Camp Nou.
The Uruguayan, third scorer in the history of Barcelona (198 goals), already said goodbye to his teammates visibly moved after training this Wednesday at the Ciudad Deportiva.
Although his intention was to fulfill the year of his contract with the Barcelona team, he forced his pass to Atlético when he learned that he was not part of Ronald Koeman's plans.
Barça president Josep Maria Bartomeu initially blocked the negotiations because he understood that Luis Súarez was reinforcing a direct rival such as Atlético.
In the end, however, he agreed to facilitate the operation in exchange for six million in variables.
The Barça club does not rule out incorporating a new striker to replace the Uruguayan.
Koeman was interested in Depay, but the priority right now is to hire a defender after the Semedo trade.
The top candidate is Sergiño Dest, from Ajax, who could travel to Barcelona this Thursday to sign the contract.
Barcelona would pay about 20 million euros more variable for the 19-year-old side.
