Ten days after the PSG-OM clasico (0-1) which ended in regrettable circumstances (inappropriate gestures by some players, deleterious atmosphere), Angel Di Maria therefore received four suspension matches inflicted on Wednesday evening by the disciplinary committee of the LFP.
The disciplinary body considered that the Parisian striker had spat in the direction of Marseille defender Alvaro Gonzalez during the first half of the match.
The members of the commission made their decision after viewing the images transmitted by Téléfoot, broadcaster of the meeting.
They relied on article 12 of the disciplinary scale of the French Football Federation (FFF) which provides for up to six suspension matches "for voluntary sputum likely to reach a person or in the direction of a person", with an aggravating circumstance if the sputum reaches its target.
Which did not seem to be the case for Di Maria.
The Argentine striker will therefore miss the next four days of the PSG championship against Angers, Nîmes, Dijon and Nantes, but he will however be available for the Champions League, the first meeting of which will take place on October 20 or 21.
Paris did not need this in a period when half a dozen players were victims of the Covid (early September) and where others recently received several suspension matches (Neymar, Paredes, Kurzawa).
