American rider Chloe Deigert was involved in a terrible accident today in the anti-clock race of the World Road Cycling Championships in Italy.
The 23-year-old champion appeared on her way to winning gold in the 31.7-kilometer race but lost control at a turn.
Digert hit a barrier and fell hard and the team car rushed to help her immediately, without knowing precisely the severity of the injury.
