The Los Angeles Lakers and LeBron James took another big step tonight (Thursday through Friday) on their way to the NBA Finals, beating Denver 108: 114 and taking a 1: 3 lead in the Western Conference Finals.
Anthony Davis once again excelled in the Lakers uniform (34 points), this time also receiving an important contribution from veteran players like Dwight Howard and Rajon Rondo.
The Nuggets, already back in the playoffs twice from a 3-1 deficit, once again showed tonight how determined they were when they refused to surrender and came back again and again, but in the end the Lakers' experience prevailed as LeBron James overcame a mediocre shooting evening and finished with 26 points (7 of 18) From the field, 11 of 14 from penalties), 9 rebounds and 8 assists, en route to another playoff win, while in the final quarter he also adds a good defense to Jamal Marie and severely limits the Denver star.
The Lakers surprised when they started in a high five with Dwight Howard, who excelled in the first half (and finished the game with 12 points and 11 rebounds), and in the second quarter already led by 10 points, but the Nuggets were not startled and shrank to just two.
In the third quarter the Lakers again went up to 75:85, but Denver managed to respond with a run and advance to the final quarter with only a 3-point deficit.
In the final quarter the Lakers managed to give a few minutes of strong defense when they stopped Nikola Jukic and restricted the fiery Jamal Marie a bit, and in the closing minutes the game was mostly decided from the penalty line, with LeBron and Davis scoring from the line and keeping the Lakers advantage until the end.
In total the Lakers went 35 times to the line, compared to 22 for the Nuggets.
The Lakers took 12 rebounds on offense, winning 6:25 on points from second chance.

The one who made an important contribution to the winners is Rajon Rondo, who finished with 11 points, 7 assists (rose to eighth place all-time on the list of assist mornings in the playoffs) and some important moves like a decisive offensive rebound and steals on defense.
Cantabius Caldwell Pop scored 13 points and Kyle Kozma added 10 to complete six players who scored in double figures.
On the other hand, Jamal Marie, as mentioned, once again proved to be one of the hottest players in the bubble, finishing with 32 points, and some spectacular basketball moves.
The other star next to him, Nikola Jukic, was stopped this time by the Lakers' highs by just 16 points and only 4 assists.
Jeremy Grant scored 17, Michael Porter Jr. added 12, and while the Hangats are 3-1 behind, they know this is exactly the moment when they wake up.
