Manchester United snatched their first Premier League victory in the dying seconds at Brighton after a crazy match (3-2) at the opening of the third day of the English Championship on Saturday.

MU goes back to 13th place, but has not completely dispelled the doubts glimpsed after its initial defeat at home last Saturday against Crystal Palace (3-1).

The first match against Burnley had been postponed sine die due to the semi-final of the Europa League played at the end of August by United. Between posts, goals and penalty canceled for offside, the Mancunians had a memorable afternoon against Brighton (10th).

A superb panenka from Neal Maupay against David De Gea (39th).

That sums up all the audacity of Brighton in the first half.

Before finding the nets, the Seagulls first touched wood.

The Belgian Leandro Trossard, who became international in early September, saw his powerful strike hit the left post (9th), then his second attempt to shave ... the right post (20th).

De Gea then deflected with his fingertips on the crossbar a header from Aaron Connolly (29th).

MU ended up reacting, but Mason Greenwood's goal, after a very good breakthrough from Anthony Martial, was refused for an offside position (32nd).

The Red Devils in trouble in the game

But the Red Devils have often been overtaken like Bruno Fernandes, guilty of a foul in the box on Tariq Lamptey.

The French Neal Maupay was responsible for transforming it with finesse (1-0, 39th).

His third goal this season.

United responded just before the break thanks to Harry Maguire so the shot was deflected against his camp by Lewis Dunk (1-1, 43rd) / Video assistance was at the heart of the second period.

By first canceling a penalty for Brighton (49th) after a slight fault by Paul Pogba on Aaron Connolly.

Then by refusing a goal from Marcus Rashford for an offside position (51st).

But three minutes later the attacker finally gave the advantage to MU after a series of feints in the box (2-1.54 ').

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's players trembled again when Brighton found the posts again on a shot from Solly March (59th) then when Trossard sent a missile on the transverse (76th).

Brighton's hopes ended up being rewarded with a header from March, left alone at the far post (2-2, 90 + 4).

It was without counting on a final rebound: a deflected head of Maguire deflected from the hand by Maupay.

New call for video and penalty for MU transformed by Bruno Fernandes (3-2, 90 + 7).

The match is not quite over since Brighton and Manchester United will meet for a rematch on Wednesday in the round of the League Cup ...
