With fifth place in Misano in his luggage, Marcel Schrötter is back for World Cup points just a week later in Barcelona.
He likes the track very much.
Barcelona / Vilgertshofen
- The motorcyclists fighting for the world championship only had a week off.
In Moto2, Marcel Schrötter and his rivals start on Sunday (1:20 p.m.) in Barcelona.
The 4.6-kilometer circuit in Catalonia is one of the Vilgertshofeners' favorite routes.
Not only because of this, but also because of the good fifth place in the last race in Misano, Schrötter is going into the race weekend with a good feeling.
"I'm looking forward to the next race and I'm also very motivated to pick up where we left off last Sunday," says the 27-year-old.
"In the past few years I have always had a good feeling on the Circuit de Catalunya."
First place in free practice
Schrötter already showed in the free practice sessions on Friday what is possible for him in Barcelona.
After twelfth place in the first session, the Vilgertshofener drove the best lap time in the second session with 1: 44.531 minutes.
The first step towards a top result has been taken.
There was one thing that made Schrötter uncomfortable.
“It's kind of strange that we're so late this year in Barcelona,” he says.
Usually the Grand Prix takes place in June.
