Although Liverpool were behind against Arsenal, the English champions had few problems. A summer addition met with Diogo Jota. For the Gunners, an away trip to the "Big Six" is no longer worthwhile.

Liverpool FC also won their third game of the season.

After a 0-1 deficit, Jürgen Klopp's team won 3-1 (2-1) against Arsenal FC.

For the Gunners it is the 28th winless away game in a row against clubs of the so-called Big Six, which include Arsenal and Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

Arsenal's lead came from Alexandre Lacazette after a ricochet from Liverpool left-back Andrew Robertson (25th minute).

The goal came as a surprise, Liverpool had previously determined the game and had the better chances: David Luiz saved against a header from Virgil van Dijk on the line (13th), Bernd Leno parried against Sadio Mané (16th) and Trent Alexander-Arnold hit the bar (22nd).

The North London lead only lasted briefly: Sadio Mané dusted off after Leno had saved a shot from Mohamed Salah (28th).

Robertson, who started into the penalty area, made up for his mistake with a hit (34th).

The final point was summer signing Diogo Jota (88th), who had only come from Wolverhampton Wanderers nine days ago.

The other top-class summer signing, Thiago Alcántara, was missing with "slight fitness problems", as Liverpool announced before kick-off.

In the Premier League, in addition to Liverpool, leaders Leicester City and Everton FC have nine points.

For Arsenal it was the first defeat of the season after two wins at the beginning.

Manchester City (2: 5 against Leicester) and Chelsea FC (3: 3 against West Bromwich Albion) had messed up over the past weekend.

Arsenal and Liverpool will meet again on Thursday evening - then in the fourth round of the League Cup.
