More than four months after leaving the club, the top scorer in club history posted a message of thanks to the Parisians.

The Parisians will not be long in finding Edinson Cavani.

This one should set foot on the lawn of the Parc des Princes on September 20, under the jersey of Manchester United, where he is about to engage.

The striker must, barring a last minute rebound, sign a two-year contract.

Before taking on the outfit of the Red Devils, the top scorer in the history of PSG (200 goals) posted a message in French on his Instagram account.

On a message of just under three minutes, the Uruguayan spends the first minute justifying himself on the long silence that accompanied the four months following his refusal to extend the adventure with Paris for the Final 8 of the Champions League : “A little time has passed since my departure, but sometimes […] it helps things and the head to be quieter.

There is less risk of creating situations which are sometimes not necessarily true, but which can create a negative mood.

I preferred to speak after a little while, because my teammates who stayed in Paris were still in competition.

It was not good to talk at that time.

"The situation was tense enough this summer for PSG" forgets "its top scorer of the club's 50th anniversary poster.

Without going over the reasons that led him to refuse the summer extension, the Matador then thanked Paris, its supporters and its employees at length, but not explicitly PSG: "I am here to thank everyone, all of you supporters who gave me your heart […].

It's a love that grew over time, which was very important to me.

Thanks to sacrifices, to work, to results too, it is possible to create this love.

[…] All the moments that we spent together, the good ones and the not very good ones, which are part of life too, will stay in my heart.

So thank you, thank you very much to all the people who worked in Paris, who did things with affection for me.

"

While his arrival at Manchester United is still not official, "Edi", 33, opens the door to the rest of his adventure.

“Life will go on, it's football that's like that,” he warns.

I don't have much to say.

Thank you, thank you once again.

And I was very proud to represent you all during the seven years that I was with you.

"

On September 13, Cavani had sent a first short message of thanks on Instagram, after the Collective Ultras Paris had deployed behind the Invalides, in Spanish: “The Matador, from soldier to legend.

A goleador who marked the history of our club.
