After three wins in a row, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have conceded their second defeat of the NFL season.

After a 13-0 lead, the team around quarterback superstar Tom Brady lost at the Chicago Bears 19:20 (13:14).

It got curious immediately before the end of the game: After the Bears scored a field goal to take the lead, the Buccaneers got the ball with 73 seconds left on the clock. After a quick first down, however, they did not make it into the field Advance goal range.

Instead, Brady threw four incomplete passes, which meant a turnover and a decision.

After the fourth so-called Incomplete Pass, Brady pointed four fingers with a questioning look and said "Fourth Down", as can be seen on TV pictures.

Apparently the quarterback didn't know that it was his fourth try and the game was lost.

On the fourth attempt Brady had previously had to cover five yards for another first down.

With 38 seconds left on the clock, he would have had enough time to play a short pass.

In American football, time is stopped with incomplete passes and runs into the touch.

Instead, Brady chose a deep pass attempt, which was blocked by Chicago's DeAndre Houston-Carson in front of the Cameron Brate ready to catch.

TV pictures show how Brady went to the referee after the situation and pointed four fingers again.

The referee sent Brady to the sidelines.

Bears quarterback Nick Foles put his knee on the ground after the Buccaneers lost the ball, time was running out.

He had to do without the obligatory handshake between the quarterbacks after the match had ended, at which point Brady had already disappeared into the catacombs.

In his career, Brady had gotten the ball in the last quarter or overtime 46 times and led his team to victory with the final moves.

Just not against Foles: He won Super Bowl 52 in 2018 against Brady, back then in the duel between the Philadelphia Eagles and the New England Patriots.

Foles was named a starter just last week.

Buccaneers coach Bruce Arians defended his quarterback after the game: "Yes, he knew it, he knew it," he said when asked if Brady knew it was the fourth attempt.

Brady didn't say anything, after the game he just said, "We all need to do our jobs better" and "We've had some bad actions".

Brady threw for 253 yards and a touchdown, but when he tried to pass he always got great pressure from the opposing defense.

Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones II showed another strong game with 106 yards.

With a record of three wins and two losses, the Buccaneers are still at the top of the NFC South, but they have also played one game more than the New Orleans Saints and the Carolina Panthers.

After the engagements of Brady or Tight End Rob Gronkowski, the Buccaneers are one of the favorites for the title.

Chicago now has four wins and only one loss, but the game against Tampa Bay was the first game of the season against a potential title contender.
