Five years ago the Eberfinger bowlers lost away in Eichstätt.

Now they managed to get their revenge, also because Eric Kühberger played better than ever before.

Eberfing / Eichstätt - It was a bitter defeat: The skittles of the SKC Gut Holz Eberfing had scored a strong 3381 wood on the track of the DJK Eichstätt.

But the victory went to the hosts (with 5: 3), who had simply outstandingly played with 3470 wood and two individual results over 600 wood.

This event was exactly five years ago when the Eberfinger competed in the regional league at DJK Eichstätt last weekend.

Gut Holz again showed a remarkable performance - and this time also won.

With 6: 2 (3348: 3281 wood) the result was clear.

SKC Eberfing: Kühberger creates personal best in the final pair

The final pair of boar fingers made the success perfect.

Eric Kühberger and Markus Lindner had to make up 14 wood behind and secure at least one team point after the guests in the middle pair had not reached their usual level.

Both boar fingers did far more than was asked of them.

Kühberger in particular put on a regular gala appearance.

With 617 pieces of wood (235 clearing), he achieved a personal best.

He improved his previous record by nine wood.

Kühberger's opponent, Stefan Spiegel (594), also acted at a very high level.

"All four sets were at eye level, and the decision was always made on the last throws", reported SKC player Hubert Resch.

In the first set Kühberger was defeated by two more sticks, but the next three rounds went to him.

The events in the other duel were clearer: Markus Lindner (578) had Christian Niebler (520) under control in all four rounds.

In the last sentence the boar finger triumphed with 163 wood (67 in clearing).

The second win of the season in the third fight of the season was bagged.

SKC Eberfing: Kriesmair and Zahler score points in the starting pair

The duel had started well: Alois Kriesmair (562) and Tobias Zahler (567) each scored one team point.

Kriesmair was particularly convincing in clearing (195) and took 39 wood from his opponent.

Zahler was in a class of his own at the game in the Vollen (408), but was still under pressure in the fourth set.

For the team point he had to win the round and catch up six woods - he succeeded in both.

In the middle pair, the guests then fell behind.

Hubert Resch (528) lost his duel, but at least only lost two woods on his opponent.

Helmut Schütz (496) struggled with the Eichstätter Bahn.

Although he narrowly won the first set, he had no chance in the three following rounds against Christian Buchner (566).

Eberfing:

Alois Kriesmair (562 wood / 4: 0 sentences / 1 point), Tobias Zahler (567/2: 2/1), Hubert Resch (528/1: 3/0), Helmut Schütz (496/1: 3 / 0), Eric Kühberger (617/3: 1/1), Markus Lindner (578/4: 0/1).

DJK Eichstätt:
