As a result of the reconfinement, all amateur football competitions but also the Coupe de France were suspended until December 1.

The French Football Federation (FFF) announced on Thursday that it would suspend its amateur championships and its men's and women's French Cups until December 1, due to the re-containment measures unveiled Wednesday by President Emmanuel Macron to fight against Covid-19.

All the matches of "all the competitions of Leagues, Districts, national championships of National 3, National 2, women's D2, French Cups for men and women, and national championships for young people (women and men ) ", Scheduled by December 1, are for the moment postponed, indicates the Federation in a press release, while the government has confirmed that the professional championships could continue.

The National championship (3rd division), of which some clubs are professional, the first female division (D1) and that of Futsal, are maintained, according to the Federation: the matches of these competitions can be played "behind closed doors".

All postponed matches will be rescheduled "at later dates, depending on the evolution of the health situation," said the FFF chaired by Noël Le Graët, assuring that "the world of football must participate in the collective effort to fight against the second wave of this epidemic ”of Covid-19.

Also coming within the framework of professional meetings, the matches of the French team, the French women's team and the Espoirs are also maintained, according to the Federation.

The next meeting of the Blues is scheduled for Wednesday 11 November, in a friendly against Finland at the Stade de France.

The situation, currently limited to one month, may pose scheduling problems at the time of the resumption, particularly with regard to the Coupe de France.

This was stopped before the 6th round, two rounds before the entry into contention of the Ligue 2 clubs and three rounds before that of the L1 teams, the latter having very few fallback dates in a calendar overload.

In the spring, all these competitions had been definitively stopped by the French Football Federation.

They had resumed, for the 2020-2021 season, at the end of the summer.
