The renewed lockdown in the leisure sector hits amateur sports in the region like a club.

We asked the clubs how things will continue for the time being.

District -

Brigitte Weinzierl, President of SV Lohhof:

“The decision by politicians to shut down popular sport completely surprised me personally.

Until recently it was said in Bavaria that this area was to be maintained as much as possible.

The restrictions are a catastrophe for sport, and I have to honestly say: I cannot understand all parts of the decision.

In the past few weeks we have put a lot of effort into developing countless hygiene concepts - in our association alone there were 26 different ones.

I think it's a shame that they haven't found a way to continue offering at least some kind of sports offer.

That would be important right now when winter is coming, the weather is getting bad and you can't move as much outside.

But people need the physical exercise - and many just can't do it alone.

I'm also thinking of things like swimming training.

It has now been suspended for almost a full year, and the number of non-swimmers will increase accordingly.

Fortunately, the difficult situation does not affect SV Lohhof so much financially because we only operate a few sports facilities ourselves.

But for our members the decision is of course a heavy blow.

The only ones who are allowed to continue to train and play with us are the second division volleyball players, as they are classified as a professional sport. "

Magnus Harlander, President of SV Heimstetten

: “I think the decision was the right one and was amazed that it wasn't made earlier.

With the current Corona figures, we are in a situation in which one should be careful to avoid anything that is not absolutely essential - and that includes sport.

Several departments have already contacted me and asked how they should deal with training or games on the weekend, after all, the restrictions only come into force on Monday.

For example, our regional league footballers would have another game in Garching on Saturday.

But I gave them and everyone else the recommendation that it would be better to be cautious and break up immediately.

That was also our motto in the board of directors since the outbreak of the pandemic: Better be careful than break something over the knee.

Of course, I also see the risk that we could lose some members, especially in the junior division, if we are not allowed to train for weeks.

After the first lockdown that wasn't so much the case for us, but recently we've had more exits than normal.

That is also why we will write to the members via our newsletter and appeal to them to support the association in this difficult situation.

Because we also need a certain substance if we want to restart sports after the crisis. "

Steven Toy, player-coach of the national soccer team Kirchheimer SC: “Basically, the health of all fellow citizens comes first, and it was foreseeable that the numbers would rise again towards winter.

“I think that in the extreme times, amateur sport is not the most important thing, despite its social importance.

Fortunately, we have completed all the planned point games, so a winter break is now uncritical for us.

Of course we would have liked to have played a game or two in the League Cup. "

Anton Plattner, coach of the district league club SV Dornach: “This is a big disappointment for the team and for me.

On the one hand, because we would have just got going and on the other, because the league cup is now likely to fall victim to the corona pandemic.

Let's see what happens next, training is not permitted until further notice.

It always hits the wrong people, the professionals keep playing. ”

Emanuel Eisenreich, chairman of FC Ismaning:“ I see the whole lockdown as neutral and hope that the decision-makers are more familiar with the subject than I am.

We would have loved to play our two league games and one game in the Toto Cup with the first team.

In the meantime, with the youth, I hope that we will hardly lose any players as we did with the first lockdown in spring.

The indoor season will be canceled this year, which is also a shame.

We in the club were already looking forward to the new sports facility with the gymnasium of the high school. "

Uwe Cygan, Chairman of the VfR Garching “The whole point and purpose of a sports club is that the members can do sports. And if that doesn't work, of course it's stupid. Our indoor sports in particular were only allowed to start again recently and for them the lockdown is of course a disaster. Our association always has around 2,400 members at the end of the year, then we start again with around 2,000 members after they have left, and people join again in the course of the year. This year it is to be feared that the departures will remain, but the new entrants will not appear. And how are we supposed to find a new shirt sponsor among the footballers if it cannot be presented? The next problem is our annual general meeting, which was canceled this year, at which we wanted to prepare the next elections. This meeting with the election of a new board is to take place in March. We cannot hold such a meeting virtually. ”

Rainer Gerhard, chairman of the Ismaning tennis club, brings another aspect into play:“

We are

currently checking whether tennis is an individual sport and whether it can also be played in the coming weeks under certain conditions. "
