Former player and coach of the Parisian club, Luis Fernandez sharply replied to the sports director of PSG Leonardo. The latter said on Tuesday that Marseille was the city of football, unlike Paris.

Luis Fernandez did not appreciate Leonardo's comments at all and let it be known!

After a long question-and-answer session with the club's supporters, Leonardo concluded the exchange where he discussed the fate of Tuchel, the extensions of Mbappé and Neymar, talking about the historical context that would not help PSG to win the Champions League.

“The other clubs that started winning in the 1970s, like Inter or Ajax, were built in the 1890s. There is a culture to build.

The city of Paris, for example, has never exactly been the city of football.

It's still Marseille ”.

This last sentence "revolted" Luis Fernandez.

“It revolts me, I don't agree.

I only wish one thing, it is that Nasser Al-Khelaïfi puts the ideas back to him in place ”, reacted the former French international on RMC.

"He does not respect the history of PSG"

Fernandez first used irony about Leonardo to explain his anger.

“It's true that when he went to PSG, he stayed ten years, right?

He only stayed for a year.

He makes references to a club that has achieved two finals (Cup Winners' Cup 1996 and 1997, before the Champions League 2020).

When Rai leaves PSG, he leaves it crying seven years later.

Ricardo and Valdo too.

He does not respect the history of PSG, which is 50 years old.

When I see him making these statements, it makes me mad. "

And the former coach of Guinea continued to support his words.

“It's the last straw for me.

I am very attached to this club.

I grew up there, we tried to live up to our means.

Why did he not succeed in keeping the young people who left?

He did not do it.

When I see Coman and Nkunku scoring against PSG… And talking to him about culture, but his culture is Italian culture, ”he added.

"Leonardo must respect all these players who are no longer there today"

The former Israel boss is still annoyed and laments the Brazilian's lack of respect for those who have died.

“Leonardo must first of all respect all those players who wore the jersey and who are no longer there today.

I am thinking of Thierry Bacconnier, Luc Borelli, Michel N'Gom.

The same goes for leaders.

And then, vis-à-vis the supporters, I don't like to hear that from him either.

Because there were two or three that died.

And you have to have a thought for these people, who loved this jersey with pride and defend it.

There is a culture of supporters at PSG.

There are grandstands that were full long before he arrived, ”insisted Luis Fernandez.

In conclusion, the former PSG coach spoke of the strained relationship between Thomas Tuchel and Leonardo.

“That he is already trying to calm the climate and create a good atmosphere in the sports sector.

It will be good for him already.

That's all, ”he concluded.
