LE SCAN SPORT - The teammates of former Ligue 1 player Stéphane Mbia, now at Shanghai Shenhua, are not taking any health risks before an Asian Champions League match.

"In Ghostbusters mode," he laughs on social networks.

Revealed in Rennes before three seasons in Marseille between 2009 and 2012, Stéphane Mbia has seen the world.

Passed by England, Spain and Turkey, the 34-year-old Cameroonian international now plays in China, at the Shanghai Shenhua.

The club has qualified for the Asian Champions League which, as in Europe, is held in an unclear health context.

Proof of this is with the wetsuits put on by the Shanghai players when they arrived in Qatar this Sunday.

In the video published by Mbia, we see all the players covered from head to toe in a special suit, with protective goggles, masks and gloves as a bonus.

They collected their luggage at the airport, before facing Australian club Perth Glory FC on Wednesday in Doha.

The Covid-19 pandemic has prompted the Asian Confederation to relocate all Champions League matches to the capital of Qatar.

Those of the West zone have already been fully played during the months of September and October.

Iranian club Persepolis emerged victorious, but will not play the real final against a team from the East zone until December 19.

Shanghai Shenhua have two other opponents in their group: the Japanese from FC Tokyo and the South Koreans from Ulsan Hyundai FC.
