The head of state lifted part of the confinement on sport by authorizing, as of Saturday, extracurricular outdoor activities for min

The world of sport, amateur as well as professional, impatiently awaited Emmanuel Macron's speech concerning the alleviation of confinement this Tuesday evening.

First measure announced and eagerly awaited by the Head of State: from this Saturday morning, November 28, it will no longer be necessary to remain blocked 1 km around your home and no more than an hour to stretch your legs legs.

Emmanuel Macron announces: physical activities will soon be permitted within a radius of 20 km around his home and for a maximum of 3 hours.

This measure could open up prospects for disciplines which by nature respect social distancing such as tennis, golf or athletics.

But this will be debated very quickly in the Interministerial Crisis Council.

Authorized extracurricular outdoor activities

Also from this Saturday, “extracurricular outdoor activities will again be authorized,” says Emmanuel Macron.

This means that those under 18 will be able to play football or rugby again, within a radius of 20 km around their home, that goes without saying.

"This recovery is also for the health of our children, their psychological well-being," said Minister Delegate for Sports Roxana Maracineanu before the announcements.

For indoor sports, these same minors will have to wait until December 15 before they can practice their favorite activity.

And for the adults ?

Nothing for them at the earliest before December 15th.

No collective or other football training therefore for amateur clubs before this date.

The reopening for team sports and indoor sports has not yet been announced.

It will be the subject of rapid discussions and a decision will be taken according to the evolution of the epidemic.

No opening of sports halls before January 20

The head of state has also not returned to the announcement he made last week to sports players: the closed door in the stadiums will not be lifted before January 20.

When it comes to ski resorts, there is no good news.

There will be no skiing at Christmas, warns the Head of State: “A consultation has been initiated by the government with local elected officials and professionals but it nevertheless seems impossible to me to envisage an opening for the holidays.

It is preferable to favor a reopening in January under good conditions ”, affirms Emmanuel Macron wishing for European coordination on this file.

Cold shower also for owners of gyms that will not reopen before January 20.

They are subject to the same regime as restaurants: "Sports halls may reopen if sanitary conditions permit" announced the president.

Like bars and restaurants, sports halls will benefit from new aid.

They will receive 20% of their 2019 turnover if this option is preferable to the 10,000 euros from the solidarity fund already planned.
