The news of the sudden disappearance of Christophe Dominici, Tuesday at the age of 48, shocked France, far beyond the only world of rugby and even in the high places of power.
As a preamble to his intervention in the National Assembly on Tuesday evening, the Minister of National Education and Youth and Sports, Jean-Michel Blanquer - who practiced rugby for a long time as a scrum half - announced the death of the former Stade Français and XV de France player at the Hemicycle: "I share with you my great emotion when I learn of the tragic death of a legend of the XV of France, so young."
As soon as these words were said, the deputies stood up and applauded.
