Diego Maradona's lawyer denounced Thursday "the criminal idiocy" of the paramedics who arrived too late at the home of the former footballers, who died Wednesday of a cardiac arrest.
"It is inexplicable that for twelve hours my friend was not the object of any attention or control by the health personnel (...) The ambulance took more than half an hour to happen, which has been criminal nonsense, ”Matias Morla said in a statement.
"This fact cannot be passed over in silence and I will ask that an investigation be carried out, until its ultimate consequences", he added.
Diego Maradona died of "acute heart failure" Wednesday, at age 60, at his home in the Tigre district, on the northern outskirts of Buenos Aires.
