Hamburger SV has given up a victory that they believed to be safe and is off the top of the table.

At 1. FC Heidenheim, Daniel Thioune's team lost 2: 3 (2: 2) after a 2-0 lead.

After five wins in a row at the start of the season, Hamburg have been waiting for a success for four match days.

The Heidenheimers had to do without Jonas Föhrenbach on their left defense, who, like substitute goalkeeper Kevin Ibrahim, was not available due to a positive corona test.

The HSV took advantage of the reorganized left side: Manuel Wintzheimer prevailed on the right wing and prepared the 1-0 with a cross.

Sonny Kittel pushed the ball on the far post from close range over the line (16th minute).

After a corner kick, Toni Leistner increased the score to 2-0 for Hamburg (24th) with a dropkick.

Then Heidenheim's best striker turned up: Christian Kühlwetter used an unsuccessful attempt by HSV to sideline him in order to score the next goal in front of Sven Ulreich (27th).

Shortly before the break, Denis Thomalla played free again in front of Ulreich, Kühlwetter scored again (44th).

Even after the break, HSV had a hard time.

Shortly before the end, Ulreich made a bad mistake: In the build-up of the game, the goalkeeper jumped the ball so far from the foot that the lurking cold weather could intervene and hit the Heidenheim lead (90th).

Thanks to his hat trick, Kühlwetter now has eight goals this season, only Simon Terodde, who is inconspicuous in Heidenheim (nine goals), was more successful in this second division season.

Greuther Fürth also confirmed his strong form in the Frankenderby: Against 1. FC Nürnberg, the Fürth team won their fifth game in a row.

With the 3: 2 (2: 1) at the local rivals, Fürth also sat past HSV to the top of the table.

The Fürth team benefited twice from deep sleep phases in the Nuremberg defense at the beginning of the game: In the first half, Havard Nielsen needed less than three minutes to chip the ball over Christian Mathenia and make it 1-0.

After an equalizer by Manuell Schäffler, who headed a Robin Hack cross over the line from close range (8th), Nielsen's second goal brought the new lead: In the left half space, no one from Nuremberg attacked the Norwegian, Nielsen took his measure and scored well 20 meters into the long corner (36th).

After the break, it wasn't long before the Fürth goal was scored: The guests played out a five-versus-three superiority situation, Branimir Hrgota increased to 3: 1 (47th).

Nikola Dovedan only managed to score after a slip by Hans Nunoo Sarpei (79th).

Hannover 96 lost 3-0 (0-0) at home to Holstein Kiel, although for a long time it had looked as if a victory should even be possible.

Marvin Ducksch alone had the 1-0 win twice in the first round (21./37.).

The Hanoverians, however, lacked luck.

After the break, his own mistakes made for the first goal: Defender Simon Falette first took a chipball from Fin Bartels in his own penalty area, Kiel's Alexander Mühling scored from the point to take the lead (58th).

Only a minute later, Hannover conceded the 0-2: Fabian Reese had penetrated into the penalty area from the left, Dominik Kaiser gripped his cross pass into the middle past goalkeeper Michael Esser into his own net.

Kiel took advantage of the home side's uncertainty, and shortly afterwards Janni Serra headed a cross from Bartels in the goal (60th).

Hanover did not come back into the game afterwards, and Falette also saw the yellow-red card (71st) for complaining.
