According to Reuters reports, an investigation into the death of Diego Armando Maradona will swell in Argentina when a search warrant at his personal doctor's home was issued by the local prosecutor's office in Buenos Aires.
Maradona died last Wednesday at the age of 60 of a heart attack and the search warrant at the home of his attached doctor was issued by a local judge who heard evidence from relatives of the Argentine phenomenon claiming it was criminal medical malpractice.
"A preliminary investigation was launched yesterday into the death of Diego Armando Maradona. In an attempt to locate evidence, statements were received from relatives of the deceased," the judge said in a statement.
Maradona's lawyer, Matthias Moriah said on Thursday that he would seek to investigate the death of a former player and criticized the slow response of the country's medical services.
"It took the ambulance more than half an hour to arrive, it is a criminal offense," he wrote on Twitter.
