The Frenchman Romain Grosjean has suffered a spectacular accident just to start the Bahrain Grand Prix of Formula 1. The Haas driven by Grosjean was touched with the Alpha Tauri of the Russian Daniil Kvyat.
After colliding with the protection fences, the car was destroyed and engulfed by flames.
The scene overwhelmed everyone present in the circuit.
But the French driver, helped by the stewards and medical assistants, was able to leave the car on his own accord.
Officials from the Haas team reported that Grosjean does not suffer serious injuries, except for small burns on his wrists and hands.
A member of the medical assistances explained: “We have never had a similar experience.
I don't know how long it has been since the incident occurred until Grosjean got out of the car, probably a few seconds, but for us it has been an eternity.
Several pilots, with obvious gestures of horror, were able to see a repetition of the accident on television shortly after.
The Grand Prix, the third-to-last of the World Cup, which takes place at the Sakhir circuit, was interrupted with a red flag.
The race was interrupted on the first lap, in which the British Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) - already mathematically world champion for the seventh time - kept his first place.
A miracle has flown over the Bahrain circuit, the images are tremendous.
