A game in the second division in Malta was stopped in the 63rd minute due to the sudden darkness in the stadium, which occurred in the very few seconds between the penalty kick and the ball reaching the goal.

Power outage during a penalty shootout in Malta (from YouTube)
The year 2020 has led to severe damage to football all over the world.
Factories were destroyed, leagues went wrong and entire seasons went down the drain, but it seems we have never seen anything like it.
Malta suffered a series of long power outages across the country yesterday (Saturday), and some of the top league games were disrupted by it, except that in one of them it came at a particularly crucial moment.
It happened in a second league game between St Andrews and Marseille.
In the 62nd minute, in a 0: 2 situation for Marsa, Pendel was whistled in favor of the visitors, and just in the few seconds between the kick and the ball reaching the goal, the electricity fell in the stadium.
The darkness went on and on until it was decided to freeze the game, which according to the local constitution would be renewed from the minute it was stopped at a later date, and the question that remains open is who benefited from this inconceivable disruption as we never know if the ball finds its way into the net or not.
