Earlier this week Yannis Sapropoulos said Elijah Bryant is every coach's dream, he did not know how right he was.
Bryant's three huge threes in the last minutes, one of them 28.6 seconds to go, set up a dramatic 76:81 for Maccabi Tel Aviv over the Red Star Belgrade and stopped the losing streak.
The Yellows knew that this game was perhaps their last chance to stay in the Euroleague and presented a great defense at all stages of the game.
In the third quarter, this defense gave Maccabi a double-digit advantage, but then the traumas from the last few weeks came back and the Serbs came back to the same big three by Bryant.
Except for the win, Yannis Sapropoulos got Omri Caspi back after over a year, and in the almost ten minutes he got one could see his positive impact on the team’s attacking play.
Thanks to the victory, the Yellows improved their balance to 8: 4 before the three consecutive away games that await them in the next two weeks.
The Israeli champion must win at least one of the three to leave herself a chance in the battle for the next stage.
Even before the game, Menora Mivtachim Hall was illuminated in purple on the occasion of International Awareness Day for the Disabled.
