Frenchman Quentin Fillon-Maillet won the Hochfilzen (Austria) pursuit on Saturday, counting for the Biathlon World Cup, ahead of his compatriot Emilien Jacquelin.
Fillon-Maillet, promoted leader of the Blues with the retirement of Martin Fourcade, signs his first success of the season and confirms his rise in power the day after his 2nd place in the sprint.
Under heavy snow, the Jurassian (28), author of a magnificent 20/20 with a rifle, took the lead after the first prone shot to win for the 4th time in his career on the circuit.
At the same time, he erased his setbacks at the start of the season and returned to the general classification of the World Cup (3rd), his main objective.
Jacquelin was also flawless in shooting (20/20) to climb for the first time this winter on the podium.
Norwegian Johannes Dale, winner of the sprint on Friday, took 3rd position ahead of Johannes Boe, who remains leader in the race for the big crystal globe.
Two other French have slipped into the Top 10: Fabien Claude (5th) and Antonin Guigonnat (9th).
