The SC Riessersee had won four games in a row, but just at the bottom of Passau, the series broke.
And not undeservedly.
Passau -
eight games, no win, no point, on average more than five goals conceded per game, bottom of the league.
In view of these statistics, Christian Eder, chairman of the EHF Passau, described the Black Hawks with a wink before the home game against SC Riessersee as Schalke 04 of the ice hockey Oberliga Süd.
The Bundesliga team was able to get hold of at least one counter against Augsburg in the Sunday game.
The people of Passau did it better.
The loser image can be discarded for the time being.
Because the Black Hawks celebrated their first win of the season - 2-1 in extra time against the favorites from Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

And that was not an undeserved defeat for the SCR.
Coach George Kink had warned his men before the game to underestimate the person who wore the Red Lantern.
But they did not heed his words.
It was only after four and a half minutes that the window flew towards the EHF housing for the first time.
From then on, the Riesserseer came into play better and created some opportunities, but these were not really necessary.
Only Benjamin Kronawitter recorded a great opportunity, but Passau's goalie Clemens Ritschel brilliantly defused.
Despite this little boom, you couldn't get rid of the impression that the SCR players weren't really awake.
