Record losses, critical offenses, another annoying loss.

Last night (Tuesday), Maccabi Tel Aviv missed an opportunity to take a significant step in its playoff struggles when they lost at home after an 89:87 overtime to Olympiacos.
Following the loss, which was the fifth in nine home games of the Yellows' season, Maccabi dropped to a balance of eight wins against 11 losses, with its rival holding it with an advantage of two wins this season, and is two more games away.
Maccabi actually started the game well, dominating the first half with very good minutes by Scotty Wilbkin and Elijah Bryant and went down by a 7 to half advantage.
But a terrible third quarter, in which the Yellows eventually scored 15 points, but a significant portion of them at the end of the quarter, turned the bowl over and put the visiting team back in the picture.
Maccabi was still in a good position towards the end of legal time, but Scotty Wilbkin and Tyler Dorsey missed from the penalty line and the game went into extra time which was dominated by Olympiacos. Points.
Contrary to his habit of two years and two months as Maccabi Tel Aviv coach, Yannis Sapropoulos had a long conversation with the players in the locker room after the loss, mainly to try and convey a message to them and move towards the game against Basconia on Thursday.
The team players looked stunned and frustrated at the end, when the feeling on the eve of the game was that the team could pass Olympiacos.
"I feel like we did what we had to do defensively in the first half, and in the second half they had more free throws, we missed a lot of free throws, including my shots, and that's things we give. It's a hard loss, but we have to recover towards Thursday," Tyler Dorsey concluded. "We played well today on defense except for their overtime and run at the end of legal time. It was a game with a low score. We sometimes have to think about how to get into the offensive game."
While Othello Hunter added: "It was a tough game, players fought, we could have won. In a few moves it just didn't work out for us."
One of the team members said in disappointment at the end: "It's already like a broken record all these games. When you repeatedly lose games you have to win, you will not reach the playoffs."

Last night's game was the eighth season that the Yellows lost by up to 5 points, with most games ending with a basket difference.
On the other hand, Maccabi managed to register four victories in close games.
The Yellows felt that the problem of close losses was behind them, when about a month had passed since the last time they lost a close game, against Wheelerban, but it turns out that the problem is still there and has not been resolved.
"We lost games on small mistakes in the end, free throws, a mistake on defense, this game was in our hands and we let it get out of hand," Tyler Dorsey referred to his team's problem.
Othello Hunter, on the other hand, did not know what his team's problem was but still remained optimistic: "We lose a lot of balls, but at the end of the day we will win close games, the problem is that we lose the games we have to win, must be much better."
The club did not believe at the end of the game that they lost a close game again: "We won before this game five of our last seven games, including big games away, including close games," said one of the Maccabi players during the night, "Everyone knew what this week means, and still in the second half it "It felt just like any other loss of ours at home. We thought there was progress, but it is a loss that takes us back significantly."

3. In the
group point out some problems that led to the loss - the first is the shooting from the outside.
Maccabi scored in the second half and in overtime only one three out of 17 attempts.
The second is 21 turnovers, with Scotty Wilbkin with 8 turnovers set a team turn record for one game.
Another point was the shooting from the penalty line, which as mentioned was critical at the end, with the Yellows leaving 10 points on the line during the evening.
Tyler Dorsey was one of the players to record a weak game with 8 points, again he and Scotty Wilbkin failing to issue a good game of both that evening.
"This is life, there is no good day in every game, personally, I have to score those shots, I put pressure on myself. I will be better in the next game, I have to work on my stability," Dorsey concluded.
In fact, the Yellows' two inside players recorded a not bad game personally - Ante Žižić scored 12 points and added 5 rebounds, much more than his Croatian friend Dragan Bender who recorded a terrible evening without points and with 4 offenses in 9 minutes of play.
Othello Hunter, who was in great doubt until yesterday, finished the game with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
But Yorgos Bratzokas, the coach of Olympiacos, said that his team managed to deal with both Maccabi's styles, with and without Hunter, and raised the question of whether this is one of the Yellows' main problems.
"I do not think we have two different styles, we need to know how to play together. We are Maccabi, we do not play in two different teams, we have to fight to win games, we have to come and play basketball," Hunter responded.
Play yes, play no.

4. The
Yellows will return to practice today ahead of the game against Basconia on Thursday (21:05, Sport 5).
The Basque rival will arrive in Tel Aviv after being defeated in Istanbul against Fenerbahce, knowing that another loss and the Yellows will pass them in the table and hold an advantage in the matchup until the end of the season.
Despite the difficult situation, and the bad feelings, Othello Hunter remains optimistic, "At the end of the day I do not care who is in front of us, we can win against any team, we have to keep building ourselves to reach the playoffs, we have no doubt, maybe you have, but we do not ".
