Holstein Kiel's trophy heroes have returned to everyday life in the second division with a disappointment.

Four days after the sensational victory against Champions League winners Bayern Munich, the Kielers lost to Karlsruher SC 2: 3 (0: 2) and slipped to fourth place in the table.

The guests took the lead after just six minutes thanks to a long-range shot by Philip Heise.

Seconds before the break whistle, Marco Thiede was successful for KSC with a remarkable shot in the right corner of the goal (45th minute).

After the break, the pressure on the guests' goal grew.

In the final sprint, Janni-Luca Serra equalized with two hits (60th, 77th).

KSC goalkeeper Marius Gersbeck prevented further goals with several saves before Robin Bormuth (85th) scored to win the guests.

Jahn Regensburg was able to end his series of five games without a win.

After the early lead of the guests through the sixth goal of the season by Daniel Keita-Ruel (6th), Jann George turned the game with a brace (58th / 68th) and Sebastian Stolze (63rd) somewhat surprisingly within ten minutes.

Regensburg is now in 13th place with 20 points, the guest from Sandhausen is in 15th place with 14 points, tied ahead of Eintracht Braunschweig and only one point ahead of FC St. Pauli and the first direct relegation place.

One week after the 0: 4 debacle at SV Sandhausen, coach Frank Schmidt's team defeated Darmstadt 98 and has now been unbeaten in 22 home games.

Heidenheim came into the game full of energy, but after a quarter of an hour the guests took control.

First, Kühlwetter cleared a header from Immanuel Höhn (30th) on the line, on the other side Lilien keeper Marcel Schschuhe steered his header (41st) over the crossbar.

Heidenheim could rely on his standards after the break.

First, after a corner, Kühlwetter was allowed to celebrate his tenth goal of the season (49th minute), ten minutes later Mainka scored after a free kick.

Denis Thomalla ended the game in the 83rd minute.
