PSG: still left to rest, Kimpembe is impatient

Tipped to start against Montpellier (4-0 victory), Presnel Kimpembe finally watched the victory of his family in front of his television screen.

The defender was not even on the scoresheet and this absence was a big surprise for all observers.

After the meeting, coach Mauricio Pochettino explained: "Kimpembe continues his recovery and next week we will see if he can come back to the team".

Injured in the hamstrings of the right thigh on December 20 in Lille (0-0), the international tricolor has been training normally since January 11 and his return to collective sessions.

He even came into play against OM (2-1) during the Champions Trophy and then in Angers (1-0) last Saturday, each time in the second half.

His training week went smoothly even though he had to cut Tuesday's session short.

It is surely this little alert that led the Parisian staff to preserve it this Friday, with the knockout stages of the Champions League in mind against Barcelona on February 16.

In the meantime, the French international has still not started the slightest meeting in 2021. After a weekend of rest, the Parisian vice-captain, disappointed not to be able to participate against Montpellier, is expected at the Loges camp on Monday for training.

With the stated ambition to travel to Lorient next Sunday, to finally resume the normal course of his season.
