It's no secret that Barcelona is going through a difficult season professionally, but tonight (Monday) it turns out that its captaincy is going through a nightmarish season, especially financially.
The Catalans have revealed in the last day the financial reports, which show that the glorious club is in a huge and imaginary debt of 1.173 billion euros.
This is just a debt of the football club and just to clear the ear, the runner-up is committed to repay debts in the threshold of 730 million euros already in the near future.
It should be noted that although the club's cash flow has been fatally damaged this season following the ongoing corona crisis, the recalculated past deals have caused tremendous and additional damage.
Among other things, Barcelona owes Liverpool 29 million euros following the well-publicized transfer of Filippa Coutinho in 2018 and in addition 48 million euros to Ajax over the Frankie de Jong deal.
The total debt to all the clubs stands at a sum of 196 million euros. A respectable sum by all accounts.
Barcelona have released their official accounts - they owe 19 clubs a total of € 126m for outstanding payments on transfers.
The largest sum is the € 29m they must pay Liverpool for the transfer of Philippe Coutinho.
