Hapoel Jerusalem are shocked by the early relegation from Europe as early as January.
Turk Telecom did the work for them, but the 88:83 loss last night (Tuesday) to Limoges was just the tip of the ice on a weak European season.
An atmosphere of grief prevailed yesterday in the locker room and hotel, and the players and management tried to digest that for the next five months they had only the local arena left.
Guard Chris Kramer was very disappointed: "It hurts. One of the worst things that can happen in basketball is that you are not dependent on yourself. In the end, we are the ones who did not do our job. We disappointed in defense and they punished us. We must be better later."
And now to the implications of the dismissal on the staff condition.
Six foreigners are currently signed in the team and the club heads will have to make a decision whether to leave them all out knowing that in every game at least one of them will remain out of the squad or release one of them.
As we already wrote yesterday, following the end of the European season the Reds have an option to be released from Jamil Wilson's contract and a decision is expected to be made in the coming days.
