European Handball Championship: Germany vs. France on Tuesday
At the end of the preliminary round, the duel for the group win against record world champions France awaits on Tuesday (20:30 CEST), who blundered against Switzerland on Sunday and surprisingly did not get beyond a 26:26. Germany leads Group A with 61:39 goals and four points, followed by France in 65nd place with 55:2 goals and three points. Meanwhile, Jan Immel, European Handball Champion of 2004, raves in an interview with IPPEN. MEDIA by star player Juri Knorr, among others.
In the main round, there will be two groups of six, with Germany facing teams from preliminary round groups B and C. The group winners and runners-up of the main round will then compete in the semi-finals. Alfred Gislason's team will play the main round in Cologne.

European Handball Championship: Who will Germany face in the main round?
At the next level of the tournament, Croatia is most likely waiting for the German selection. The handball team from the Adriatic Sea leads Group B with three points (67:57 goals) after two games, followed by Austria with the same number of points and a goal difference of 59:52. The battle for the second main round ticket is still open and will fall on Tuesday (20:30 CEST) between Spain and Austria.
In Group C, it is still completely open who will qualify for the main round. Hungary lead the standings with four points, followed by Iceland (3) and Serbia (1). Only Montenegro, which is still unsuccessful, is already out. Serbia will face Montenegro on Tuesday (18 p.m.), while Iceland will play Hungary on the same day (20:30 p.m.). Should Serbia and Iceland end up with 3-3 points, the head-to-head comparison would not bring a decision due to the draw at the start. Then the overall goal difference would count.

Germany should finish group stage with victory over France
Germany are not taking their final group game against France lightly, despite already qualifying for the main round. Background: Only the result achieved against the other team that advances to the second phase of the tournament will be carried over to the main round. So if Germany lose to France on Tuesday, Gislason's team would start the main round with a 0-2 deficit. (aoe)
