The Slovenian Basketball Association has introduced its new member: Saša Doncic, father of Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka, has taken on the role of professional director.
Doncic's appointment is meant to fill the void left by the unexpected departure of Rosho Nestrovic, a former NBA player who was responsible for overseeing the Slovenian national team and often served as a mentor.
The president of the Slovenian association explained that Doncic's responsibility goes beyond managing the men's team.
In his new position, he will serve as a liaison between the management and the national team.
In addition, he will be involved in the training and monitoring of players in the Slovenian league, those playing in the USA at universities and throughout Europe.

Doncic, 49 years old, has been closely following the team's events in recent years.
He previously served as a commentator and participated in the last MundoBasket in Okinawa and Manila as a fan.
Before his involvement with the national team, Doncic worked as a coach in Slovenia.
"When I received this offer, I first asked several people if they agreed with it, including Luca. It is only in my interest to strengthen the relationship between all the members. I did not take this position for the financial side but to feel that basketball gives you," confirmed Doncic '.
