On Franz Beckenbauer's special day, FC Bayern received further sad news.
Klaus Wunder, another former club player, has died.
Munich - The sad news at FC Bayern doesn't stop.
Actually, everything on Friday (January 19th) was supposed to revolve around Franz Beckenbauer.
The German record champions want to say a fitting farewell to the “Kaiser” in a large-scale memorial service in the Allianz Arena (from 3 p.m.).
Speeches are expected from President Herbert Hainer, Bayern leader Uli Hoeneß and Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier - a Munich star tenor will also sing in honor of Beckenbauer (all information about the big Beckenbauer memorial service in our live ticker).

Hainer mourns Wunder: “Our club will never forget the ‘Caesar’ of football”
“FC Bayern is united in mourning with the relatives of Klaus Wunder.
He was an outstanding player, with whom FC Bayern won the European Cup in 1975, and also a great person who always gave everything for the fans - our club will never forget the 'Caesar' of football," Bayern said. President Hainer quoted on the club website.

Particularly sad: Wunder also played alongside Beckenbauer during his time at Bayern.
The striker, who also had the nickname “Caesar”, moved from MSV Duisburg to Bayern in the 1974/75 season and celebrated his greatest success by winning the European Cup in 1975.
