LE SCAN SPORT - The Frenchman, winner on Friday then Saturday of the downhills in Kitzbühel, will receive a very nice sum of money after difficult years.

Cyprien Sarrazin entered the legend of French skiing this week by winning the Kitzbühel downhills first on Friday and then this Saturday.

An exceptional double for the 29-year-old Gapençais who has long experienced struggles at the highest level before truly exploding this season.

Irresistible in Austria, the Habs will also add plenty to their bank account by winning the most prestigious race of the year.

Each of his victories allowed him to pocket 100,000 Swiss francs (105,000 euros), the highest reward in a race this season.

His four victories this winter (downhill of Bormio, the Super-G of Wengen then the two successes on the Streif of Kitzbühel) to which must be added a podium have made it possible to increase his total prize pool to 345,000 Swiss francs, or 364,000 euros !

364,000 euros already this season

Before his dream weekend which placed him among the greatest French alpine skiing champions, he had collected pretty checks.

His two fourth places in Val Gardena, for example, allowed him to pocket 9,000 Swiss francs each time.

His success in Bormio earned him an additional 45,000 Swiss francs.

22,000 Swiss francs were added after a second place in Wenger (downhill) the day after a success in Super-G bringing in 47,000 in the same station.

... and only 2900 euros pocketed in 2021

A nice haul for this athlete who has long chased the podiums even if he won during the 2016-2017 season in the parallel giant slalom of Alta Badia.

Since this coup, the darling of CO Dévoluye had had a series of disappointments and much smaller gains.

In 2021, a slow year, he only received 2,750 Swiss francs thanks to his performances.

And the harvest is not yet over since the season will continue with stages in Garmisch-Partenkirchen (Germany), Chamonix, Bansko (Bulgaria) and Kvitfjell (Norway).
