Football referee Niv Steif is released from the hospital after being seriously injured from a hit by an anti-aircraft gun/Rambam Hospital
After being released from the hospital, football referee Niv Steif, who was seriously injured as a reserve fighter in an elite unit at the beginning of December from an anti-tank missile hit on the northern border, sent an encouraging and moving message this evening (Monday) to the team of the match between Hapoel Tel Aviv and Betar Jerusalem (20:00, Sport4 ).
"Hi to all the friends in Bloomfield and all the judges at home," Steif began his words.
"I want to wish you good luck today. Thank you very much for the blessings, see you on the courts."
As you know, the 28-year-old Steif is part of the senior referee staff in Israel who is regularly assigned to the Premier League games.
After being hit by an anti-aircraft missile while performing his duty, he was taken by helicopter to the Rambam's shock room, where the doctors fought for his life.

"We saw a flash on the news that there was a missile strike in the north," recalled Yafit, Niv's mother, "we tried to call and he didn't answer, then we got a call that he was seriously injured. At one in the morning he came out of surgery and since then we've been here for six weeks, on a crazy rollercoaster. We were here in an amazing department in terms of the staff , who accommodated us in a crazy way received everything with love, all the brothers and sisters down to the level of the cleaners. We continue with a lot of hope."
