Philadelphia (13:29) - San Antonio (8:35) 123:133

Opinions were divided after Joel Embiid won the title of MVP of the past season.

Tonight the center of Philadelphia gave the best game of his career with a club record of no less than 70 (!) points in the victory over Victor Wombanayama and the Spurs.

This is of course the highest score scored by a player in this league this season, on a night when Towns from Minnesota scored 62. Embiid also recorded a career high 18 rebounds with 11 of 24 from the field and 21 of 23 from the free throw line.

He broke the record of the legendary Wilt Chamberlain, who scored 68 points for the Phillies in December 1967. This is Embiid's 21st straight game with at least 31 points and since he returned from injury he has been in monster form.

Embiid's performance overshadowed No. 1 draft pick Vumbanyama who had an excellent game of 33 points and 7 rebounds, but couldn't defend the fearsome Cameroonian.

Minnesota (13:20) - Charlotte (31:10) 128:125

The best team in the West recorded only its fourth home loss against one of the weakest teams in the league and this is on a night when Karl Anthony Towns scores no less than 62 points, including 44 in the first half.

But the guests came back from 18 behind with an amazing fourth quarter in which they outscored the hosts with 18:36.

Myles Bridges (28) and Brandon Miller (27) led the surprising Charlotte, when the comebacker Lamelo Ball added 18. Anthony Edwards was stopped at only 13 on the other hand.

Dallas (7:24 p.m.) - Boston (10:34 a.m.) 119:110

After suffering a debut loss at home against Denver, Boston won in Houston and tonight in Texas also defeated Dallas.

Jayson Tatum scored 38 points with 11 rebounds and got a lot of help from Jaylen Brown who shot 35 as the Celtics' duo surpassed that of Dallas, who got a great triple-double from Luka Doncic with 33 points, 18 rebounds and 13 assists.

Kyrie Irving contributed 23, but Boston's depth was decisive with Jrue Holiday adding 17 for the visitors, who continue to look like top contenders to win this year's championship.
